Maybe you’ve tried growing plants before with little luck, resulting in having to pick-up dried leaves off the ground after a week or host a plant burial. OR maybe you’re completely new to taking care of plants and want something that isn’t going to require a lot of attention. Either way this is a list of the best low maintenance plants for any stage of your plant mom era.

ZZ Plant

This plant has a reputation for being hard to kill, making it a great starter plant (even for gardeners with black thumbs). They don’t require a lot of care and are happy to just co-exist with you!

Watering them once a month is more than enough and they can adapt to any lighting situation, making them great if your house doesn’t have a lot of natural light.

Snake Plant

The Snake Plant also doesn’t require a lot of light or moisture, making them another super easy keeper. They grow well in just about any indoor space, even if your house doesn’t have a lot of natural light. These plants also do great in bright indirect light.

Spider Plants

A great beginner plant and often people’s introduction to owning plants. These plants do best in a hanging basket in front of a window, but will thrive in most situations. They require more frequent watering than some plants on this list and the occasional misting.

Succulents

Succulents are one of the best plants for beginners. They’re the perfect set it and forget it houseplant. If they’re dying, its likely due to too little or too much water and not enough light

Pothos

Also known as the devils vine due to its resistance to death, this is a very forgiving houseplant. It does well in any lighting situation and only needs to be watered every one to two weeks! The pothos also comes in a variety of colors making it super easy to match to your décor!

Cactus

Cactus like it dry making it the perfect plant for you if you want little up-keep. They are part of succulent family only requiring water maybe once a month.

Aloe Vera

Better to forget about it than over care for it. Aloe Vera are originally desert plants, meaning they like it dry. If they get over watering the plant will get droopy or turn brown on the edges
