Genovese Organic Basil Seeds
Genovese Organic Basil Seeds 4075. Heirloom Herb.
Approx. 250 seeds/pkt (500 seeds/gram)
A spicy basil flavour and aroma perfect for pesto. Large 5 cm (2″) dark green leaves. Performs well in containers indoors and out and is slow to bolt in the heat of summer. Annual.
How to Grow
Sow seed outdoors in mid to late May, then every two weeks through August, or start them inside and transplant after the danger of frost has passed. Basil can be grown indoors on a sunny window or under lights during the winter. Indoor Genovese Basil plants do reasonably well, if provided enough bright light. Outdoors, Genovese Basil is a low maintenance plant & prolific–all you really need to do is provide water when necessary. Lightly feed with a general-purpose fertilizer as too much can adversely affect the production of the essential oils responsible for flavour and aroma. Basil plants are grown for their leaves and flower clusters.
