Welsh Bunching Onion Seeds (Aimers International) 2855. Heirloom Vegetable. Variety originated in Russia. A very hardy, non-bulbing, clump forming member of the onion family. Leaves grow to 30 cm (12"") in height. The hollow tube-like leaves have an enticing onion flavour and aroma. Very important in Asian Cuisine. A reliable self-seeding biennial. Matures in 65 days.
How to Grow
Start seeds indoors in a sterile medium 10 weeks before plant out time or direct seed in a sunny site with light well-drained soil in early spring as soon as soil becomes workable. Seed typically germinates in 7-10 days.

COMMENTS: Use thinnings as spring onions. Often grown as an edible ornamental plant. While relatively drought tolerant, keep plants evenly watered through periods of drought for best harvest. Bees are attracted by the flowers.
