Dracaena Janet Craig Compacta – 6"

A handsome tropical houseplant prized for its dense growth and rich, glossy green foliage. Dracaena Janet Craig Compacta features tightly arranged, lance-shaped leaves that form attractive rosettes around sturdy stems, creating a neat and architectural appearance. Its naturally compact habit and tolerance for a range of indoor light conditions make it an excellent choice for desks, shelves, tabletops, offices, and contemporary plant displays.

Key Features

  • Dense clusters of glossy, deep green foliage create a lush appearance
  • Naturally compact growth habit with an attractive architectural form
  • Adaptable to medium and lower indirect light conditions
  • Slow-growing habit helps maintain a neat, manageable indoor size
  • Compact 6" size ideal for desks, shelves, tabletops, offices, and plant displays

Plant Care Instructions

  • Light: Prefers medium to bright, indirect light but tolerates lower-light conditions. Avoid prolonged direct sunlight, which can scorch or fade the foliage.
  • Water: Allow the top 3–5 cm of soil to dry before watering thoroughly. Dracaena is sensitive to overwatering, so allow excess water to drain completely and never leave the pot sitting in standing water.
  • Soil: Use a loose, well-draining indoor potting mix. Adding perlite can improve drainage and help maintain healthy root aeration.
  • Humidity: Average household humidity is generally suitable, although moderate humidity can help maintain healthy foliage and reduce dry leaf tips.
  • Temperature: Thrives between approximately 18–27°C. Protect from cold drafts, sudden temperature changes, and prolonged temperatures below approximately 13°C.
  • Fertilizer: Feed every 4–6 weeks during spring and summer with a balanced houseplant fertilizer diluted to reduced strength. Reduce or discontinue feeding during winter.
  • Maintenance: Wipe the broad leaves periodically to remove dust and rotate the plant for balanced growth. Dracaenas can be sensitive to minerals and fluoride in tap water, so filtered or distilled water may help reduce brown leaf tips.
  • Pruning: Remove yellow or damaged leaves as needed. Overly tall stems can be trimmed during active growth to control height and encourage new shoots.
  • Repotting: Repot every 2–3 years or when roots become crowded. Choose a container only slightly larger than the current pot and refresh with a well-draining potting mix.

Note: Plant size, fullness, height, foliage shape, and coloration may vary naturally from the product image. Decorative pot design and color may also vary. Most plants are supplied in a one-time-use plastic grower pot.
