Plant Care Instructions

• Light: Prefers very bright, indirect light. Some gentle direct morning sun can help maintain vivid coloration, while insufficient light may cause the foliage to become greener.
• Water: Water when the top 2–3 cm of soil feels slightly dry. Keep the soil moderately moist during active growth, but avoid waterlogged conditions and never allow the pot to sit in standing water.
• Soil: Use a rich, well-draining indoor potting mix that retains moderate moisture while allowing excess water to drain freely.
• Humidity: Appreciates moderate to high humidity. A humidifier can be beneficial in dry indoor environments and may help prevent crispy leaf edges.
• Temperature: Thrives between approximately 18–29°C. Protect from cold drafts, sudden temperature changes, and prolonged temperatures below approximately 15°C.
• Fertilizer: Feed every 4–6 weeks during spring and summer with a balanced houseplant fertilizer diluted according to its directions. Reduce feeding during fall and winter.
• Maintenance: Wipe the glossy leaves periodically to remove dust and keep their colors vibrant. Crotons prefer consistent conditions, so avoid frequent changes in location, temperature, or watering routine.
• Pruning: Trim leggy or overgrown stems during active growth to encourage branching and a fuller shape. Remove yellow or damaged foliage as needed.
• Repotting: Repot every 1–2 years or when roots become crowded. Move into a container slightly larger than the existing pot and refresh with a rich, well-draining potting mix.
