Onions – Scallions (Green Onions)
Scallions, also known as green onions, are a fast-growing, cool-season onion prized for their mild flavor and crisp green stalks. Unlike bulb onions, scallions are harvested young and used whole—from the tender white base to the fresh green tops. They are perfect for salads, soups, stir-fries, garnishes, and fresh garden snacking.
These versatile onions grow quickly and can be succession planted for a continuous harvest throughout the growing season. Scallions are hardy, easy to grow, and ideal for both garden beds and containers, making them a great choice for beginner and experienced gardeners alike.
Their mild onion flavor is less pungent than full-sized onions, making them excellent for fresh dishes. The slender white stems and bright green tops add both flavor and color to meals.
