Nutritional Information

This vividly coloured melon offers all the refreshing qualities of classic watermelon, plus a unique boost! The striking orange flesh indicates high levels of beta-carotene, a precursor to Vitamin A, which is essential for vision and immune function. It remains an excellent source of Vitamin C and provides hydrating, low-calorie refreshment for the whole family.

What you need to know to Plant & Grow

Watermelons are heat-loving vines that need ample space and consistent care to develop their size and sweetness.

  • Sow Indoors: Starting indoors 3 to 4 weeks before the last frost is recommended in short-season areas. Use biodegradable pots to minimise root shock during transplanting.
  • Sow Outdoors: Direct sow seeds into thoroughly warmed soil after all danger of frost has passed.
  • Germination: Seed requires a crucial soil temperature of 24°C to germinate properly. Germination occurs in 5 to 10 days.
  • Planting Depth: 12 mm
  • Spacing: Sow 6 to 8 seeds per hill, 12 mm deep, in hills spaced 1.8 m to 2.4 m from each other. Thin to 3 to 4 plants per hill.

Provide a site with Full Sun and rich, well-drained soil. Never let the plants lack for water, especially when the fruit is setting, as this is key to developing large, juicy melons.

Its stunning interior colour and high performance—competing with the best varieties on sweetness—make it a perfect conversation starter and a rewarding crop.
